COVID accelerated the move to remote work but did so with most technology vendors ignoring the
longstanding challenges around information sharing when an organization sends data beyond its
perimeter and outside its control. In this webinar we will address the following and provide a practical
roadmap to effectively and securely share knowledge even with your competitors.

  • Why is data sharing still hard even with hundreds of new collaboration tools since COVID?
  • Why the need and challenges for data collaboration is the same for vaccine researchers, investment
  • managers, threat hunters, and Navy Seals?
  • Why security, while important, has failed to meet the needs of data sharing and Zero Trust?

Will Ackerly is the Chief Technology Officer and Cofounder of Virtru. Prior to founding Virtru in 2012,
Will spent eight years at the National Security Agency (NSA) where he specialized in cloud analytic and
security architecture - specifically protecting the agency’s in-house data transfers. During his tenure at
the NSA, Will invented the Trusted Data Format (TDF), an open standard published by the US Office of
Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and used today by various government agencies for the secure
transfer of data and the technical foundation on which Virtru was founded. Will holds a number of
patents, both awarded and pending, and is a frequent speaker and quoted expert on cryptography,
data protection, and big data analytics.

Kristopher Schroeder started toying around with computers in the late 80’s which fueled two degrees
in Computer Science and a career driving market and technology strategy for leading commercial and
federal customers. While working on the front line of Cyber Counter-Intelligence and open source
information exploitation, Kris realized that there needed to be a fundamental change in how people
and organizations interact and live online. He founded Grey Market Labs to empower this change with
technology from large scale SaaS to portable mobile devices. Prior to Grey Market Labs, Kris lead
systems delivery across Federal and Fortune 500 clients as a Principal for Booz Allen. During his tenure,
Kris facilitated and advised committees under the National Open Source Enterprise and helped
establish information sharing standards, procedures, and systems across the US Federal government.
Former Adjunct Professor with Johns Hopkins University and co-founder of Uncorked a 501c3 serving
DC and NYC.
